10/10 amazing spa, hotel and we stayed in the cottages, home from home and beside the spa. Highly recommend with amazing views over the river.

Where to start? We stayed for 3 nights and it was like staying in student accommodation - guests were running up and down corridors, playing loud music and singing until the early hours. We were glad to leave. It’s not really a hotel more of an aqua park with rooms. In our experience the focus appears to be on maximising profit over quality. Breakfast in Gillies is to be avoided. The hot buffet is reached via a longish walk through swinging double doors (a health and safety hazard when people are walking with plates of hot food). The food was rubbery and cold. The cold buffet was uninspiring. Instead have breakfast in the Conservatory - a much better experience. Food in Fratellis was not great either. The pizza was so loaded with cheese it was basically cheese on toast! Staff generally were friendly and polite. Particularly the IT team who helped when none of the WiFi worked. Location is pretty however you must don a robe and flip flops to access most of the gardens. Be prepared for robed guests to be sat in the main hotel eating. The entire hotel smells of swimming pool too. There are other lovely hotels with spas!

Was expecting great things...however this was not the case. Our room was very small 202...don't book it..generator going all day and night out side our beautiful view of a ...wall... two small single beds. Poor storage. Had to actually ring for toilet paper. Heat unbearable even with radiator of and fan on. Meal in restaurant not great quality with some of the staff definitely in need of customer service training. As for the thermal spa. I believe some people have no concept of time and stayed for hrs in the same place. No consideration for other guests maybe looking to get a toe wet. A lot of emphasis on day guests rather than overnight guests. I could go on...but let's just say most definitely not 4 stars.

Myself and my husband stayed in July, this break was bought for our birthday from our daughter. When we arrived we went to eat in the conservatory for what we got the price was shockingly expensive, plus there was blue bottles all round our table that we had to keep bating away. We were not able to get into a hot tube during any part of the stay there was far to many people we also couldn't get booked for dinner for until 9.30 the heat in the room was awful a fan was supplied however it didnt work. Overall the price was awful and wasn't the stay we expected. Disappointing.

Very positive experience with the day spa package. Got 2 treatments and a beautiful lunch which had loads of choices. Beautiful secluded gardens to wander round.

Me and my other half cannot get enough of this place! I could gladly go into Lockdown in this Resort. The Thermal Village is nice and relaxing and Gillies Restaurant serves great food.

Positives: The starters we had were very nice, just a tad expensive for what you get. The deluxe king room was fantastic, very spacious and clean. The bathroom was spotless, the walk in shower was unreal, and had a spacious bath. Only gripe is that the room was super warm during the night, and the weather was too hazardous to leave the doors open (obviously cannot be helped) The cold water tap for drinking water in the room and providing water bottles I thought was a very nice idea. Reception staff and cleaning staff super friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Negatives: There was a big black hair in the cod, now it was remade in good enough time however when I mentioned this again when leaving the restaurant the server, who at the start was friendly enough just did not want to know he just took payment and didn’t apologise or anything, rude. In my opinion when something like this happens a gesture of goodwill should be made, nothing of the sort happened, only taking the Pepsi off the bill which I had to ask for. The chicken schnitzel was bland and just about warm, not worth £25. Not good enough for a near £90 meal. I know this is out of the control of the Galgorm, and obviously the weather cannot be helped, but it is shocking how difficult it was to actually make of the thermal spa, especially if you are there as a couple. There were groups who had constantly hogged the tubs, and when they eventually became available it was like a race! There were always towels on the beds near the indoor pool left by people to “claim” them, there should be a rule against this. Fortunately we had a private tub session for 1hr because if we didn’t have this we wouldn’t have had any time in the thermal village. Know the price of drinks are always a bit more expensive in hotels and restaurants, but £8.95 for a bottle of Heineken is scandalous. Overall, the Galgorm is expensive, but that is the price you pay. To be fair I can see why - we have stayed times before when it was very quiet, and it when it is like this the experience is something else. The restaurant experience we had was a real let down, but wouldn’t put us off completely going back.

This is an amazing hotel. The facilities are incredible and time just seems to slow down while you let yourself relax and de-stress in the thermal spa. The staff are highly trained, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. It was my husband’s birthday and they had a card from the staff and a little chocolate treat for him in the room. Such a fantastic place that we can’t wait to visit again.
